CHAD's STORY

From Jessi to All…Seeing Chad as I See Him!

“If you have not met Chad yet, you are in for a real treat.  Prepare to laugh and giggle until your belly hurts.  Chad is a charismatic jokester that will surely have you smiling at the very least.  His joy is contagious as it spills out of him.  He is a devoted man of God.  In the fall of 2018, Chad decided to leave corporate America after spending the last 16 years in the nuclear field.  A Navy veteran, Chad climbed the corporate ladder and became one of the youngest Senior Managers of the company at the age of 33.  His attention to detail, strong desire and initiative to build an environment where individuals felt appreciated, and emotionally safe to communicate and achieve was his greatest desire.  His decision to leave nuclear was both difficult and heartbreaking.  He knew he would be leaving his colleagues he appreciated deeply and believed in, yet he strongly felt God had been slowly revealing to Chad his purpose for him.

Prior to his departure in nuclear, Chad purchased the property now known as Stone Mountain Retreat.  From the moment he stepped onto the land, he felt God’s love and a deep soulful download that he was meant to buy it.  The family who had loved and stewarded the land for over 100 years set the intention for the right person to purchase the property.  After screening many potential buyers over the year it was listed, they knew without a doubt they had found their man in Chad.  Chad felt the property was meant for the world, yet was still unsure exactly how it was supposed to be used.

Chad set out to remodel the cabin on the property as his first endeavor.  If there was an accurate representation of Chad, it is within the craftsmanship of the cabin.  His attention for detail, distinctive eye for architecture and creative genius inspired him to take his talent and create on the blank canvas of the property.  The cabin is extraordinary beautiful to the eye, and yet at the same time exudes an overwhelming feeling of love and calmness.  You can’t help but feel Chad’s passion for bold architecture and joy in the cabin.

Along his way of creative development, Chad had become Stone Mountain Retreat’s builder and ARTIST.  In preparation for building up this beautiful land for the community to connect, God has used Chad as his vessel to build a masterpiece that organically leaves guests in awe of its beauty.  Chad has a unique ability to see the land exactly how God sees it.  He never takes away from it, just molds it and amplifies its magnificence, which makes him the perfect steward of the land and most likely why God chose him for this difficult task.  Chad’s tenure in serving roles to help individuals grow on a personal and spiritual level was a natural step of progression when God chose Chad to use this highly energetic land to help others grow, heal and transform.

His intentions have always been to use Stone Mountain Retreat as a place for people to connect and experience God’s unconditional love for self and circle.  He will often joke that he is just the “builder” around the property, and Jessi is the “Boss.”  However, truth be told, Chad is the backbone of Stone Mountain Retreat, and without him this dream that God placed on our hearts would have never come to fruition.  Chad’s love for the land, and his commitment to serving the community is what makes him truly special.  When you get the chance to meet him, and I pray you do, you will see exactly what I mean.  Little by little his kinetic energy and love will break down any barriers and touch your heart.

This bio was written by Jessi ;) because Chad is way to modest and humble to write about himself.  I, however, know first hand how special Chad is to this mountain, and the many gifts he has to share.  I felt it was very important the reader got a glance of the man I, and many others know and love deeply.”
